Industry discount or not, there’s nothing like a free tasting.
For a few years now I’ve been riding along to Temecula on visits down to SoCal to see friends, who also have a membership at Oak Mountain Winery.
They make my favorite Chardonnay I’ve tried in the Temecula/San Diego Area so of course I bought a bottle on this last visit…and proceeded to drink it that night. Guess that’s just an excuse to order more.
Their 2018 Chardonnay is lightly oaked, packed with vanilla, butterscotch and caramel notes. It’s like taking a big swig of liquid creme brulee. Best paired with best friends and my Chardonnay playlist on Spotify.
The overall vibe of the winery and the wines they produce is light, carefree and relaxed, a reflection of the area as a whole. Plus: they have a cheese board fit for five hungry adults and a kid, and tri tip French fries I need to learn to recreate.
Oak Mountain is a stop worth making if you’re in the area looking for a solid selection of sparkling, whites, and reds for every palate.
