My recent weekend trip to Paso Robles was just peachy.
During my stop at Peachy Canyon Winery, I found my favorite rosé of the whole weekend. Wine Enthusiast agrees on quality, with 91 points and an Editor’s Choice rating.
Their 2017 Rosé is bone dry, but full of life. Red fruit and citrus notes make it perfect for patio (or massive chair) sipping all through spring and summer. I brought a bottle home with me and will be drinking while listening to my “Island in the Sun” summer playlist on Spotify.
I tried their 2016 Chardonnay, which I thought I’d love with the lemon and tropical notes but in my opinion was just “good,” not earth shattering. But: all wine doesn’t need to be.
Finally, adding another to my favorites list, the Peachy Canyon Winery 2016 Merlot was a delightfully unique expression of the varietal. No wimpy merlot here, deeply fruity, slightly tannic, and just enough toasty oak to spice it up. Paired best with my “Winehouse & Wine” playlist on Spotify.
