Fall is my absolute favorite season.
Maybe it’s my October birthday. Maybe it’s the leaves changing. Maybe it’s the abundance of pumpkin flavored drinks and scented candles. Maybe it’s all of the above.
Actually, it’s definitely all of the above.
One of my favorite parts of any season is decorating my home to reflect the seasonal mood. Whether it’s trinkets I’ve acquired over the years or autumnal colored flowers, what makes fall FEEL like fall is being surrounded by these things I love, things that make me feel happy, cozy and content. Essentially, I live and decorate by the notion of hygge, the Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness, with feelings of wellness and contentment. I feel maximum comfort and happiness coming home to a home where each little nook and cranny in my home is decorated with intention. (Okay, maybe except the junk drawers and storage closets!)
Frugal as usual, all of the items I decorate with have been collected over the years from thrift stores or discount retailers like Ross, TJ Maxx or Home Goods.
I switch things up a little throughout the season, but featured here are some of my favorite little corners of my home currently! As mentioned above, things have been collected over the years, but if you see a piece you are particularly in love with, reach out to me and I’ll do my best to help find where to buy it!
