I’ve been an avid Lykke Li listener since the first time I heard “Love Out Of Lust.”
Serendipitously enough, when I signed up for Gundlach Bundschu Winery’s wine club – Bacchus Club – I checked their list of upcoming events to use the free concert tickets benefit that’s included in membership and saw Lykke Li would be playing at their outdoor amphitheater. With zero hesitation, I cashed in on two tickets to see her live.
Having never been to one of the winery’s concerts and having not done much prior research into their shows, I was more than happy to show up and find out I get free parking for being a club member, greeted by a ridiculously delicious food truck, a patio garden area for members with a free glass of wine and an ideal outdoor grassy amphitheater with beautiful lighting and crystal clear sound. As per usual, every single member of the GunBun team was incredibly gracious and accommodating, no surprise there.
Note: Interested in signing up for GunBun’s Bacchus Club? I highly recommend it! Check them out, what they offer and feel free to ask me any questions about why I love their winery. If you decide to join on my referral, use my name “Anna Pryor” at sign up and let me know so I can thank you!
Food Truck: The Bodega
Left: Mushrom Molé Torta (tomatillo salsa, queso frescom greens, avocado mayo, corn nuts, soft roll, vegetarian) This one was my favorite!
Right: Beef Brisket Noodles (Stemple Creek beef, soba noodles, kimchi relish, cucumber, sweet soy broth)
Member Patio Garden
Scripted on a chalkboard sign out front of the patio read “Membership has its perks.” It sure does. Everything combined, the membership has been more than worth it to me, but this was a cool area to relax before the show and sip on a complimentary glass of wine.
Openers: TiRon & Ayomari
I’m so glad I showed up early enough to see the openers!
They were excellent performers with culturally relevant and significant messages in their music. Click on the link on their name to head to their Spotify. My favorite song of theirs was “All We Are.”
Headliner: Lykke Li
Lykke Li’s performance did NOT disappoint. I didn’t think to bring a jacket, so I was pretty cold by the time she started performing, but I forgot about that real quick. Plus, all the wine did an excellent job of keeping me warm too! Her stage presence was on point, her dance moves are dynamic and her voice is just as beautiful live.
As usual when I go to live shows, I rather leave getting tons of photos and videos to the event photographer so I can enjoy the show completely, but I couldn’t help getting a little video when “Little Bit” came on because the crowd’s energy was too endearing to pass up. So many people started standing and dancing, it was a genuinely happy moment.
